Night time-lapse overlooking Santa Barbara on a foggy night. This is taken at 30 second intervals. Time-lapse photography is a technique where film frames are captured at a slower rate, and when those film frames are played back at normal speed, time appears to have sped up. For example, the gif of the Milky Way being played to the left is not showing time at a normal speed, instead it shows around an hour of time in a couple of seconds and the results are astronomical. Time-lapse photography can be a great way to capture events that normally take hours and compress it into seconds.
